Penmara are based in the Hunter Valley with input from five different family properties around NSW.

Here we see the Mudgee Cabernet Sauvignon from Penmara and it's a lovely earthy regional red. Fully of flavour and heart, it's just the pick for anyone after a red wine with flavour.

Expert Reviews

Lifted aromas of cassis, sweet plum, thyme, vanilla and almond lead to a succulent palate that is supple and flavoursome. The wine offers lovely juicy fruit attack on the palate, leading to a medium-full-bodied weight, backed by fine tannins, making it comforting and delectable. At its best: now to 2022. 92 points - Sam Kim

How's it taste?

Lifted aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry and cinnamon spice with hints of vanilla. The palate is generous with ripe, rich red berry fruit backed by soft tannins and leading to a smooth, lingering finish.

How was it made?

Mudgee Cabernet Sauvignon made in the traditionally chunky, full-of-fruit style

Who made it?

Penmara was created when five, well-established, family-owned vineyards joined together to take control over the way they were making and distributing wine. Located in the Hunter Valley with access to vineyards in Orange and the surrounding areas provides them with access to different climates and soil types. This enables them to produce quality wines of character with a unique sense of place.
