Hedonistic, decadent Pinot Noir has a name - Orin Swift Slander.

Handsomely packaged, beautifully presented and dripping in class, this is heroic Californian Pinot Noir for anyone looking to take their Pinot Noir drinking to 11.

This is your only chance to get this cult American Pinot Noir in Australia. You won't regret taking some home.

'A delicious, soulful Pinot Noir... well priced for the quality'

Robert Parker

Expert Reviews

92 Points - International Wine ReviewThe 2016 'Slander' is a deep colored Pinot Noir, which begins with a profile of cherry cola, bramble and wild blackberry aromatics. The texture to this wine is lovely as this reveals sexy flavors reminiscent of candied red cherries, orange rind, rose water and suggestions of pomegranate. Lithe and rich, this should continue to evolve in the cellar over the next decade.'

How's it taste?

An elegant nose presents, with complex aromatics of ripe cherries and dried rose petals, a touch of white pepper and a hint of alpine forest. Balanced and integrated, the palate comprises of sweet strawberries, cranberries, and traces of rhubarb. The wine closes at length with a finish of toasted brioche, a dash of caramel and fresh raspberries.

How was it made?

Pinot Noir and Orin Swift Cellars have had a unique relationship over the years. With this being only the third release of Slander, their experimentation and trials with Pinot Noir go back many years prior. The signature style of finding the highest quality grapes, picking without hesitation and being gentle with the fruit during fermentation is of utmost importance. What results is a final blend of fruit sourced from the Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley and Santa Rita Hills.

Who made it?

The history of Orin Swift Cellars dates back to 1995 when on a lark, David Swift Phinney took a friend up on an offer and went to Florence, Italy to spend a semester “studying”. During that time, he was introduced to wine, how it was made, and got hooked. A few more years of university led to graduation and eventually a job at Robert Mondavi Winery in 1997 as a temporary harvest worker. Deciding that if he was going to work this hard, it would eventually have to be for himself, so in 1998 he founded Orin Swift Cellars; Orin is his father’s middle name and Swift is his mother’s maiden name. With two tons of zinfandel and not much else, he spent the next decade making wine for others as well as himself and grew the brand to what it is today.
