Antoine Huray

"Hands down one of our best value for money wines. A bargain for a smooth, easy drinking Bordeaux with good fruit, reasonable length and lovely tannin structure. Fruity, entertaining, ideal for everyday wine: you will have a hard time believing how such a good wine can be so cheap. No wonder why this is the number one selling Bordeaux in France."

We're always on the lookout for genuine imports that don't break the bank, and and this fantastic value red Bordeaux from Baron Lestac is value winner.

What's interesting is that despite being the number 1 best selling premium Bordeaux in France, this blend of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon has never come to Australia before!

We've been missing out judging on the quality of this red!

How's it taste?

The color is garnet with deep brick highlights. The nose is fine and has aromas of red fruits with woody oak notes. On the palate, the wine is well structured with fine-grained tannins. A touch of oak lingers on the fine finish.

How was it made?

Baron de Lestac red is matured in oak barrels for several months. Optimized with each vintage, it develops a subtlety, an elegance and a tannic structure rarely encountered in this AOC Bordeaux.

Who made it?

Vine growers, wine producers, barrel-makers, cellar master, winemaker, quality manager… A network of professionals put their skills, passion and high standards to bring you Baron de Lestac – a Bordeaux brand with a unique personality, a rich history and unrivalled flavour. Bordeaux is one of the famous wine-producing regions, with a mosaic of soils (gravel, sand, limestone and clay) and different levels of sun exposure, of gentle slopes, alluvial plains and hilltops, that help to create the Bordeaux and Baron de Lestac diversity and typicity. Baron de Lestac red is aged in oak barrels for at least 6 months to refine the wine and obtain the best balance between the fruitiness of the Merlot and the softness of the vanilla flavour from the oak.
