2016 Anon Tasmanian Pinot Noir

2016 Anon Tasmanian Pinot Noir

Despite the name, there is nothing anonymous about the 2016 Anon Tasmanian Pinot Noir. Made by Glenn James at Winemaking Tasmania, this is a 'best of' blend in the mode of other fine Tassie wines like the Bay of Fires Pinot Noir.

Flush with cherry fruit and then backed by a round and surprisingly full palate, this is high quality Pinot.

Expert Reviews

93 Points - Sam Kim - Wine OrbitStylish, complex and engaging, the bouquet shows ripe berry, spiced plum, game and earthy mushroom characters with a touch of dried herb note. It is beautifully weighted and attractively fruited on the palate, delivering fine texture and seductive savoury undertones, elegantly framed by polished tannins. At its best: now to 2020.'

How's it taste?

A ripe and fuller style of Pinot, with berry fruit, earthy tones and savoury spice. There's a herbal note, too on the palate, awash with dark fruits and hints of vanillin oak.

How was it made?

A blend of Tamar Valley, Derwent Valley, East Coast, Coal River & Huon Valley grapes, matured in new and used French oak (mainly used to enhance the natural fruit flavour).

Who made it?

Chief Winemaker Glenn James has been sourcing fruit and making wine in Tasmania for almost 20 years. He brings with him an enormous depth and wealth of experience from over two decades as Senior Group Winemaker for some of Australia’s biggest wine companies and most prestigious brands
