Felix Gentle

"Dried and dusty black fruits. Plenty of aged characters coming through"

Felix Gentle

Now with an extra year or so of bottle age, and in wonderful form, this mid weight Margaret River Cab Merlot is soft and cedary with some lovely blackberry fruit.

With a gold medal and 3 silver medals it's also a well-received wine too. A high quality West Aussie red and at a blindingly sharp price.

Expert Reviews

An 81%/19% blend matured in new and used French oak for 18 months. Fragrant blackcurrant/ cassis aromas set the compass for a medium-bodied wine that has a delicious juicy stream of cassis and plum running down the middle of the palate with no need to even think about interference from tannins. 94 points - James Halliday's Wine Companion

Who made it?

The Watershed vineyard is situated almost 5km south of Western Australia’s Margaret River region. The first vines were established in 2001 to form the largest initial vineyard planting in the district. The modern Watershed winery is one of the few major producers in Margaret River with the capacity to satisfy international wine market demand. Watershed’s owners selected the vineyard site after extensive testing confirmed ideal soils for premium wine grape production. Chief winemaker, Severine Logan brings a broad base of knowledge to the Watershed team. After study in France, she gained wide ranging experience in wineries throughout Australia. The driving force behind Watershed Wines is geared towards achieving outstanding results.

A really great wine deal must must be accompanied by great value. There is nothing better than getting an incredible bottle of wine for a fraction of what similar quality wines sell for. My recommendations gives you the very best "Value for money" wines at different pricepoints.
