"Leafy, cool climate Cabernet with pencil shavings oak and dark berry fruit. Like Coonawarra but a bit juicier."

Hailing from Norfolk Rise's Mount Benson Vineyard  in South Australia, this 100% estate grown Cab Sav, with a splash of Cab Franc for complexity, certainly delivers value for money.

It's actually sneaky complex too - those tannins, the structure of it. By the second or third glass you realise just how clever this well made wine really is!

How was it made?

Appearance: Deep magenta red.

Nose: Classic Cabernet aromas of blackcurrant berries and herbs.

Palate: Chocolate, caraway seeds, liquorice and an earthy, mulberry palate. The long slow ripening season and free draining Terra Rossa soils of the Mount Benson growing region have helped shape this elegant and individual wine. Blackcurrant, caraway seed, sage, and fresh earth. Black fruits are interwoven with brioche, chocolate and tiramisu.

Who made it?

Norfolk Rise is the best kept secret of South Australia, with the vineyard in Mount Benson only planted in 2000, and the first vintage off the estate bottled in 2002. The free draining limestone soil profiles and cool maritime breezes produce wines of exceptional quality and complexity, embodying the unique and magnificent terroir of the surrounding landscape.
