2013 Xanadu Exmoor Drive Chardonnay
Margaret River's Xanadu winery have been hitting the high notes in recent years, taking home silverware like the coveted Jimmy Watson trophy last October.
They've blessed us with this rare treat too - a well-priced, aged Margaret River Chardonnay that is in its drinking prime.
Something that is fresh and vital (still), but with more complexity, introducing some nutty bottle age to add extra layers of richness to a lovely frisky white. Delicious!
How's it taste?
Fresh as a daisy! This aged classic Margaret River Chardonnay displays melon and stonefruit flavours with fine integrated oak. Rich and stylish.
How was it made?
Exmoor drive leads to the southern boundary of the beautiful Xanadu Vineyard in Margaret River. Established in 1977, the free draining soils and maritime climate at Xanadu combine to produce wines of character and distinction. made from select batches of Chardonnay, the wine expresses a wonderful purity of fruit, with some barrel fermentation and wild yeast adding complexity and personality.
Who made it?
