Delving into the cellar and look what we've pulled out - stylish Yarra Valley Pinot, with some bottle age, done very very well.

That's this Hirsch Hill wine in a nutshell. A label that is relatively unknown in the scheme of things, this Pinot is a masculine number showing the warmth of the '13 season. There's dark fruit, cola and the meaty effects of bottle age making for a wonderfully savoury, dark and deep red of hidden power.

And gee whizz that price...

How's it taste?

The palate is fleshy & well-balanced with gentle red berry & spice. All generously supported by silky and delicate tannins.

How was it made?

The family behind Hirsch Hill Estate believe there are no shortcuts in life. Whether it's breeding Champion racehorses or exploring new vineyard practices, they produce honest wines with estate grown and hand harvested fruit, offering a unique taste of the Northern end of the Yarra Valley. This wine is made from exceptional fruit from two vineyard sites located at Dixons Creek and Nenagh Park.

Who made it?

We produce honest wines with 100% estate grown and hand harvested fruit, offering a unique taste of the cooler northern end of the Yarra Valley region. Keen to embrace, adapt and explore new and different practices, the last few years have seen us employ the help of some of the regions top winemakers; recently borrowing the skills and knowledge of Rob Dolan. Rob’s hands-on approach to winemaking is a perfect fit for the family and the estate.

A really great wine deal must must be accompanied by great value. There is nothing better than getting an incredible bottle of wine for a fraction of what similar quality wines sell for. My recommendations gives you the very best "Value for money" wines at different pricepoints.
