Winemaker's Notes
Appearance:Excellent creamy white mousse which once dissipated reveals a pale straw coloured base wine with pale gold edges.
On the Nose:The exceptionally fine bead showing great persistence. The nose displays great complexity and refinement with aromas of oily toast characters, baked bread, roasted almonds, yeast lees and citrus arising from the glass.
on the Palate:The palate has an understated richness yet is very graceful and refined featuring flavours of citrus, oily toast like characters, almonds and of course yeast lees. Finishes dry and fresh with bracing acidity and a slight creaminess about the mouthfeel. Superb length with a long aftertaste of oily toast characters, citrus, almonds and yeast lees.
Cellaring:Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alcohol: 12.5%
Bottle Size: 750ml

Jamie Goode says
2006 was a season of mixed weather, with a warm, dry July followed by a cool, rainy August. Fortunately, September was warm and dry, and any botrytis present on the grapes dried out. Harvest started 11 September and lasted 3 weeks. The result is a Dom P that is refined with lovely fresh, well integrated toast and citrus flavours, as well as some pear hints. There are some richer notes lurking with some candied fruits offset by a hint of matchstick. Mineral and taut with a hint of pithy bitterness in the background. There’s real precision here, and while it’s delicious now, it’s really a wine for the future. Lovely.
