More than just the 2021 Dark Horse Winery, Yarran is one of the single best value wineries in recent years. From humble beginnings in the NSW Riverina, production has now risen to incorporate fruit from Heathcote and beyond. As Halliday said 'Yarran’s track record suggests this award is no flash in the pan' with young winemaker Sam Brewer making outstanding wines at incredible prices.
Not only are Best's 'Australia’s best kept secrets' according to Halliday, this famous western Victorian estate makes the best value wines in the country. The secret here is no secret - just a vineyard that dates back to the 1966 and contains some of the most unique grapevines on the planet. To get an array of 95 point scoring wines, at prices this reasonable, makes Best's a true one-in-a-kind producer.
Pegged as one of Margaret River's most awarded wineries, Deep Woods array of Margaret River wines runs long and deep, the Cabernet, Chardonnay & Shiraz wines in particular are amongst Australia's best. Yet for all the accolades, the value in this lineup is barely believable, especially in pricey Margaret River.
Langhorne Creek's most established name, Bleasdale's history is that of Langhorne Creek itself with over 165 years of production. Despite this legacy, Bleasdale makes some disctinctively modern wines - like benchmark Malbec - alongside glorious traditionally styled red and whites wines. The value, too, is impossibly good.
Veteran Margaret River winemaker Stuart Pym made his name at estate's like Voyager Estate, Devil's Lair & Suckfizzle, but Flowstone might be his finest work. Championing Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon & Sauvignon Blanc, this Margaret River label makes sublime Margaret River wines with a little x-factor, all delivered at exceptional prices.
