Albert River Wines

Albert River Location and History Albert River is boutique winery located in Queensland’s picturesque Albert Valley. It is situated on the banks of the Albert River with views of Tamborine Mountain in the Gold Coast Hinterland. The estate is home to an historic colonial homestead, Tamborine House, the beautifully restored Auchen flower House and the original Kingaroy Lutheran Chapel. The first vineyard was established on the site in 1998. Albert River Wine Making and Styles Albert River Wines lays claim to rare terroir in the rain shadow of Tamborine Mountain. Well drained river loam over sandstone base, combined with a cool mountain breeze and long sunny days, provide ideal conditions for wine grape production. The estate applies modern grape growing techniques and careful canopy management to produce high quality chardonnay, viognier, merlot, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, and more recently, petit mensang. Master of wine, Peter Scudamore-Smith has taken charge of winemaking since the first vintage.
